From the Executive Director's Desk ...
The Empire is embarking on an exciting journey with the Veteran's Administration. The Veteran's "SIP" (Specialized Intensive Program) is now available at the ERC, and provides a peer mentor recovery program.
Veterans who are in residential placement with the ERC participate in a Wellness Recovery Program, using our innovative and unique "Recovery Rangers Field Manual." This program was developed by Duane Kevin Weaver, a Peer Specialist.
The ERC and Kevin have initiated the first program of this type in the United States. The first group of graduates have completed the Twelve Steps or Tactics . The graduates are now serving as peer mentors for new recruits to this exciting program. Kevin and I will be collaborating on evidence-based data and outcomes, as the program becomes an integral part of what the ERC offers.
The ERC has contracts with Veterans Administration for both residential and detox services, and the Recovery Rangers program will provide a continuum of care for veterans who will return to VA outpatient services.
